School spying on students

This is a very awkward situation,it is very skeptical that The Lower Merion School District believed that it was a divine idea to give student laptop with an activated web cam to Harriton High School . It is clearly wrong that they did not even think about informing the students that the web cam can be activated to obtain pictures of students dealing with their personal business at home.They are invading students privacy which is illegal. Even if this is true, it is puzzling that the district should of thought about the outcome before making the decision of giving laptops. On the other hand, there isn't much verification weather or not that students may assume that the school was spying on them is factual.
